About Smarter Housing
Several years research and a recent feasibility study, conducted with 200 students from the University of Warwick, has shown that three problems make house hunting far from easy:
- The search
A list of houses, sometimes accompanied by a photo or two, doesn't give enough information to make a sensible decision. If you want to get a complete impression of what's on offer, you'll have to visit every house in turn, involving a huge amount of time and effort. There's also no guarantee you'll be able to reserve a house - someone else could snap it up while you're looking round!
- House quality
There are plenty of nice houses on offer, but finding one is hindered by the presence of a higher number of dingy properties barely fit for occupation. Only the most reputable landlords are allowed to let with Smarter Housing, and all their properties are subjected to council accreditation standards.
- Lack of effort
Rent demands aside, you'll rarely hear from an estate agent after contracts have been signed. At Smarter Housing we're committed to making sure your house is ready to live in from the start of your contract - this means all your services (gas, electricity, internet) will be up and running before you get there.

Adam, company founder and managing director, graduated from Warwick University in June 2005 and instantly recruited a team to ensure Smarter Housing would become a reality. Six months later we are ready to launch, offering by far and away the most complete student accommodation package.
